10th Herbstacademy

Self-Organization in the Life Sciences

 

Dear colleagues,

Ever since 1990, the Herbst – Academies are scheduled almost annually as a series of interdisciplinary conferences focusing on current trends and developments in complex systems, non-linear dynamics, self-organization, with special emphasis on transdisciplinary approaches to synergetics. 

Scientists from Europe and all over the world are presenting recent findings in theoretical innovations, systems modelling, empirical research on complexity and dynamics in psychology, psychiatry, psychosomatics, social sciences, neurosciences, economics, and other life sciences.

The Herbst – Academies have earned a reputation of being a high-level platform of scientific discussion with an outstanding open and supportive atmosphere. It thus comes natural that the „Herbst – Academies“ have become an important scientific institution for all those engaged in complexity research. 

Founded in fall of 1990 at the university of Bamberg, this conference is no longer confined to a certain season.

We are glad to invite you to the 10th „Herbst – Academy“ in Spring of 2002. 

It is scheduled to be held from

 

June 6th to 8th , 2002

in the Conference Centre “Kloster Seeon/Bavaria”.

 

As usual, the Herbst – Academies are being organized in cooperation with the founder of synergetics, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Hermann Haken (Universität Stuttgart).

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Komplexe Systeme in den Humanwissenschaften e.V. (German Society for Complex Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics); 

Interdisziplinäre Abteilung für Verhaltenswissenschaftlich Orientiertes Management - Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (Department of Management and Organisational Behaviour - Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration).

We are looking forward to a stimulating conference in the bavarian spring, hoping to generate new contacts, while meeting again all those who have been faithful contributors during the past years.
